Mornin all.

Took advantage of the heat to work some boiled linseed oil in/on an old wood gunstock to clean it up a little and protect some dry spots.
After working off/down some rough areas of greater character it has incurred over it's life time.
Then took oil and 0000 steel wool to the light rust areas.
And some file work on a deformed from abuse latch ect.

Put it all back together and cleaned up the mess and put things away.
Then noticed I'd missed cleaning up the metal butt plate!
Ah well. Next time.

Yeah Rusty. Hydration matters.
One shop took away the thermomotor a guy brought in that was showing over 100 degrees.
Company "nurse" would come out of her air conditioned office wearing a sweater when someone , or multiple people wiped out.
Of course she blamed drinking the night before...

I wanted her to work at the tailout of 300 plus degree ovens big as small houses and see how she did. You may guess that didn't happen.
When I touched paint supports on the line changing them out they'd leave a blister...That's warm enough.

Washers systems my partner and I would get down to 150 before going in.
High humidity above those tanks. Come out with my wet tee shirt nearly to my knees.

Went to work in a foundry after that. Sigh.

Drink water before you need it.
In time , going outside on a 90 degree day felt cool . But it takes time to get conditioned. Oh , and water...

Unless a safety hazard you can wet a rolled rag in cold water and wear it over the back of your neck. They make gelled ones for that.
Sweat bands need wetted and squeezed out before wearing. Same principle of synthetizing extra sweat. Time and again I'd see people wearing them dry.
Guess they thought they were for keeping sweat out of thier eyes..

Blood not thin enough can bog out a persons ability to control heat too.
Yes I'll go with dehydration first as you were diagnosed.
But if you have symptoms when hydrated don't ignore there maybe being more going on.

Real hot days / areas I'd sing Christmas carols sometimes..:laughing7:

Good to hear that you're restored the stock, and got rid of some old rust.
Another humid day here.
Need to get some fuel in the jerry cans.
Been putting it off, but the fumes are spent so I think I will have to spend some $$$.

Prepare the mask
Brand new mask? The only way to remove the factory coating from the glass so it won't fog up is with a lighter. Toothpaste and cleaners do not work.

Be careful not to get the flame too close to the rubber or you will be buying another mask. There is probably a video on u-tube on how to flame a mask.

Why does it have to be removed/why do they make it do difficult to remove?

Morni P.J.!

Nice day here too.
Rain/storms maybe predicted by t.v. weatherfolks mid day.
Decent /warm tomorrow then cooling off to great temps , mid-upper sixties F. after.

I'm happy most any day there's no ice to wipe out on.
But sixties I'll get more done.
Plenty of tractor work in the yard to do. In the yard , not to the yard. Though that could be done if so much other stuff didn't need done.

Then to actual fun. Mowing and habitat work on the hunting property / my escape to happy place hideout site.

10 U.S. gallons? (40 liters if you leave air spaces) for $95.00!!!!
Plus the fuel you used to go aquire it...
Ouch.

Never would have thought we should have locking gas caps on tractors.
Heck , maybe on push mowers too!
10 US gallons.
Met a contractor friend at the station.
He was sweating now $700 in fuels every 2 days. It's hard to make money.

Good day one and all. I hope your weekend is grand. I went for a walk about and saw my first rattlesnake of the year. Beautiful colors. Dangerous beauty. Three footer so not huge. But big enough.

That's a big snake, I'm wondering if it ate WD's fathers doggie?
Beautiful colors for sure.

Medium size. Saw three well over 4 feet last year. Lots of rattlesnakes the wildlife management area. Also caught a glimpse of a kingsnake. They eat snakes, including poisonous. This rattler would have been too large for him. Kingsnake.
