You do know there is a pill people swear by to prevent poison ivy now. Over the counter, and liquid form too. The landscape people here all take it.

I'll have to look into it a lot of the best places to metal detect here in the hills and mountains are full of poison oak

Imagine each poison ivy blister having an acid in the middle melting into your flesh(Like certain spider bites). While itching , and getting more itchy every hour..
And where the acid melted flesh it don't heal for weeks.

Something worse than poison ivy well that's a horrible thought. Poison ivy leaves me in misery for weeks. I get blisters all over, swell and ooze liquid. My reaction to the stuff is terrible

I,m not the least allergic to any form of poison ivy,oak or sumac. Chiggers on the other hand I cannot abide,drive me absolutely crazy with itching. If you have chiggers,clorox is your friend. A big splash in a foot tub of water,bathe the affected areas,usually the ankles,very well and they,re done.Kills them right now and relieves the itch.
