1659 Beach Find 2.webpHere it is Folks....
If one of these is ever found,
it will be the rarest of all 8 escudos Minted in the
New World and will most probably be worth over
$1,000,000.00!:occasion14:

That's exactly what I'm hunting for!

Now I'll know what it is when I dig it...
Thanks Cap :hello:

So what makes it so valuable? Sorry, I've forgotten a lot of my spanish coin markings translations.

Where would you have a chance to locate one? I'm thinking anywhere along the Texas or Florida coasts, also any territory that once belonged to Spain, near or in a big city, around an old hacienda, well, almost anywhere. If they are that rare, they could be anywhere north or south of the Rio Grande, though in 1659 northern Mexico was still pretty wild and Texas was wilder, near or on a Carribean island(especially Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic...). Like the man said, gold is where you find it. I fear that it will be a lucky accident that turns one up. There is one more place. Spain itself now, in a shop, attic, kid's coin collection...Who knows. Probably less chance of finding one of these as there is of Sofia Vergara knocking at my door tonight carrying her jammies and toothbrush.

lol no wonder you have 5 banner finds. Now do you know where I can find a map of this "new world"

Two Places! There is one in the Bank of Spain's collection in Madrid
and hopefully the rest are on the beach at Jupiter Inlet!

P.S. If you find it in the water the State will take it from you to protect
the people of Florida's Interests....

lol sorry it doesn't matter how I find it. The story is I inherited it from a great uncle.
