I usually trash ash trays if they come up, unless I do happen to see a Stainless stamp, which I haven't seen yet.

A while back I dug this ashtray up...and I was thinking of trying to clean it...on one hand I kind of like the idea that there may be old ashes imbedded on it and want preserve those...on the other hand it is a bit trashed looking....

Thanks for any input.

That's a pretty neat ashtray. Personally, I would do a light cleaning to bring out the detail, but not over clean it.

Thanks, I'd like to retain its old look if possible....maybe I'll try alittle soapy warm water...

I'd do a dish soap and water/ washcloth clean up on it, and call it done.

If you're going to use it as an ashtray, I'd just clean it up a bit with soap and water and call it good. If you're going to use it as a candy dish or spoon rest, I'd buff that baby until it shined! :laughing7:
