Today I hunted a yard and really didn't expect much because it was in the newer part of town... and I was right for the first hour.... 4 quarters 6 dimes 6 nickles 20 pennies... then I got towards the side yard and back... the wheats started to come out of the ground 1952 1932 1930 then a cub scout slide then this gorgeous badge... check it out!

That's worth more than a worn out liberty nickel!

That is a way cool find!!

Really cool badge!

Here is a short history on it...

in 1911 This guy named John Frederik Strombeck started making things out of wood scraps, tools and such, then in 1919 he started making wooden toys. He started the "model making club" which rewards young model makers badges depending on how many kits they built.

When plastics were starting to be used in toy making it hit him hard (1950's) He finally went of the toy business in 1962 because of plastic toys they were just cheaper to build and he couldn't compete.

Awesome find! I wish I would find stuff like that. All I find are coins....

way cool find.

Do you remember building models with real glue? the kind that stuck to everything it touched? The AMT and Revell Kits that somehow were made in America and assembled by kids like us?

I don't remember Stromberg, but I sure remember choppin the top on some 40 Fords .

I like that stuff also. A lot of finds can be very local to the area
but great finds.
