:lol: Great find today! Found an couple of stone foundations and chose to snoop. Took out the MD and it went apes**t. Had to put it the truck and go to it the old fashioned way. Found 1833 liberty penny but scratched it. :cry: Also found tons of hand forged iron tools, horseshoes, pull rings, as well as leather straps, boots, shoes and what I think used to be bridles. I'll be going back.

The old fashioned way is digging by hand, and rooting through the dirt. I resort to this method quite often. Sometimes I dig down 6 inches or so, then MD the dirt pile and the dug-out area, since my MD isn't so good on depth. New MD, long overdue. :?

well at least youve got a machine........ itll be three weeks til i get mine then ill have to get the chance to machine. Im waiting on a reply from TWO farmers very close to the River MERSEY. Cant wait.

I could just cry looking at that big scratch on that coin. It really teaches us to slow down and realize that there really could be something down there.

May 2004 Values on that coin are as follows (without the scratch):VF-20=$80, EF-40=$150, AU-50=$250. Boo Hoo. Man I would be pissed if this were my coin.

Yeah, that was a gorgeous coin- too bad about the scratch.

Next time, turn up the descrimination, and the detector should work just fine. A smaller searchcoil would have helped, too.
