With -5 temps overnight it was a chilly start to the day, but off we went… fools that we are! We wrestled a few finds from the frozen ground, but honestly i had to leave some as I couldn’t break the frozen crust.

But we did what we could! Lovely fastener, buttons, lock escutcheon, a couple of other bits (?) spindle whorl, buttons and lots of little bits of lead!

Took some pics of the village church, school and water pump on the way back from the fields just because there is only so many ways I can make the English stubble fields look cool 😂 xx

I need to get back over there. Such a beautiful country! You recovered a good amount of finds considering how frozen the ground was...

Love your photos!

Now you can see the full length Tudor Fastener against the shorten fixed one you had the other day.
The 3 items in the picture below it, from left to right are;
Fixing hole/eyelet (where the cord/ribbon went) on a Victorian whale-bone corset.
Middle item?
Tudor Book Clasp

It will be frozen again for us today but hopefully it will defrost by the end of the day.

Keep at it until you get completely frozen out....:hello2:

Oooh la la! Well throw that fixing hole/eyelet in the sewing cabinet. Never know when spare parts are needed. I have a garter belt fastener in mine. :laughing9:

Great finds and I am amazed you are still able to get himself out in those cold temperatures. I absolutely love the first pic of the countryside! Great post, Blossom!
