Relic Hunting
Hello everyone. Got out today fort a few hours at my favorite fort site. This fort was pretty large and has been hunted for 50 years. As you see things still turn up but you really have to work for the relics. The site is loaded with iron!
The first relic was a 69 caliber round ball. Right after that one I found this 1880s slick Liberty nickel. I find more Liberty nickels than Buffalo nickels because they are 75 percent copper.
I also found this large square head nail. The fort is loaded with these.
I also found this rolled brass piece with a floral design. I have no clue what it is. I also found this folded lead sheet. The last find was this coat sized artillery button that is intact with a United States back mark!

V nickels and Buffalo nickels have the same percentage of copper and nickel alloy.
