Got out today to a spot I've wanted to hit for a few years now.

It's pretty far from home but I finally did it. I spotted these from historic aerials from a shot take in 1949. I was also able to see them in the 1934 shot, which is the earliest one available. Unfortunately the Topo's that go back to 1892 do not show them on that map or the map from 1868.
Someone spent some serious cash to have these built. The main building looks like it was a stable based on all of the divider walls. I spent some time here & ended up with nothing except shot gun head stamps & shell casing. Was pretty disappointed.

I went back close to home to a spot that has produced relic's but only 3 LC's.

HH,
Roger

Looks like too good of a looking spot to give up on yet. Gotta be a hot spot there somewhere. I'd give it another go sometime at least once more! [emoji106]

I'd say it was worth the trip just to see the ruins anyway. The bottle with the Devil embossing on the base and the word PLUTO came from French Lick, Indiana. The old bottling plant is across the street from the swanky hotel there. Back in the 1920's-30's and maybe later, they bottles the mineral water that came from springs in the area.
The combination of minerals caused a laxative action, and the water was used for that purpose by Native Americans long before white men came to the region. When we were there in 1977 the tour guide told the story that the old PLUTO water plant was now the home of Blue Luster carpet shampoo, so the factory was still making products for the "cleaning business". There is a steam locomotive and railroad station that has been set up at the foot of the hotel that you can buy tickets and take a fairly long scenic (if you like corn fields and woods) ride on.

Wow! Looks can be so deceiving! You would think for sure silver lurks there. Cool bottle and love the key! On my bucket list. Go back with your friend, more ground coverage will tell you more. There could have been others b4 you so the outskirts could be the ticket. Congrats!
