Out again today, so we tried a new area, it didn’t give us much, but it’s always good to be out in the fields! So today a mixed bag! We find hundred of cartridges due to the pheasant shooting …. But this one was a bit different … literally a silver bullet … the photo doesn’t do it justice, as it’s so shiny….!

The weird round thing is very heavy for it’s size, probably modern but I’ve kept it! Lots of lead, a nice Saville Row button, a couple of crusty livery buttons, piece of pot, and other assorted bits!

And some more little pics of our travels round the fields!

the .243 casing should be made from white brass. No pheasant hunting with that unless someone likes exploding pheasants. Must be hunting deer there. Be mindful of the hunting seasons if you're searching an area known for large game hunting. Sure wouldn't want to get mistaken for a trophy buck and end up with your head mounted on someone's wall.

Your round thingy that looks like a wheel is a toy train wheel or some kind of toy car wheel that had a hard rubber tire.

Tower hunts or preserve type hunts for pheasants?
If preserve type the .243 could be for fox or other predator control.

The Estate and game keeper would know what larger game exists , and who is permitted to hunt it.

It would be a sloppy poacher to not police thier brass. (Or nickel plated case in this case.)

Love the buttons...the button on the left (sort of star look)has a similiar design to one I found years ago...circa great war? Love the mushroom pic with the detector too!
