Got out today and boy was it warm, low 70's.

Was at a nice site out in the middle of the woods until I ran into a Black Bear coming down the hill in my direction at a safe distance, thank God I didn't literally walk into it, as for some reason I took my eyes off the ground and saw its head.

I made lots of noise, made myself as big as I could but to no avail. It couldn't care less what I did and just slowly lumbered away. I did follow it to see which way it was heading, and it seemed like it was circling back to where I had been hunting. I made more noise, and it went behind a small tree & stood up with its paws wrapping around the tree. At this point I know it was time to leave, Bear - 1 / Roger - a button of some sort & a small pc with the letters EIC.

Did hit some other roadside sites & nabbed this Lead filled Coat of arms item, no clue what it was from.

Also, pulled at least 5 ticks off my pants. 1st time I think I've seen ticks all season.

Until next time HH!

Seeing a bear was worth the ticks Rebel :laughing7: Ticks were bad this weekend here as well. Hiking out to a cellar hole, I had to stop every 5 minutes and flick them off of my pants. It was a cold morning and they were just waiting for a warm body to pass by. Oddly enough, on the hike out, I didn't see a single tick.
