Tokens?

I don't know what to call these two pieces and am hoping you all can enlighten me. The first one reads from top to bottom:

Hampden
paid
Oct. 27-31
New York.

There is nothing on the back except what looks like iron remnants.
The second one is brass and reads:

VGS
4
on the front and:
716
on the back.

Thanks P&P. Upon closer inspection mine does read Patd instead of paid. The only difference between the one you posted and the one I have is the size. Mine appears to be a good bit larger and weighs about as much as a silver dollar.
