Looks like you have a C&R license. If not, you should consider getting one ($30 for 3 years). The deals aren't as good these days, but they may come back after the pandemic gun buying surge.
I'm selling an M1 Carbine and ammo but it's a post-war, commercial, version.
Thanks for sharing these pictures of your beautiful collection! :icon_salut:

I've been quiet and sort of MIA from the forums lately, been busy as heck!

Good part, after a 3 1/2 year battle, the final Hurricane Michael repairs are going to be completed on our house.

Bad part, we have to vacate the house during this period. So over the last 30 days my wife and one of our sons have been packing up the entire house for storage in pods. Our last night in the house will be tonight, Saturday night, and on Monday we'll hand the keys over to the contractors.

Trying to find a place to stay, short time, with 3 adults, a Husky, Husky-Malamute mix and an Evil Bobbed Tailed black cat isn't easy. Then our next door neighbor, says "Hey why don't yall stay with me, I've got two vacant rooms and will love the company. Besides it will make it easier to watch over the work." You have to love your neighbors when you have a relationship like that with them!

Thursday night my job, was to get my firearms ready for transport to another location for secure storage. We loaded the vehicle in the garage, and unloaded the vehicle in the garage at the other location. So not to draw too much attention.

This is the result of emptying the racks, and doing an SN check and inventory of the ones in this room. They were then wiped down and received another coating of oil. Thursday was a long and hard day that is for sure.

That is a good collection! I did t see any pistols. My collection isn’t very big, one semi-auto pistol, one revolver, a shotgun and a rifle. We’re looking forward to getting a few more, but finances are thin.

Well I'm going to go pick up the weapons here in a bit. We have a 700 plus acre fire burning 2 miles North of us. The fire is currently moving North East and IF It jumps the 2 lane road, and the wind shifts a bit we'll be in the path.

So getting paperwork, DD Form 214s, military orders, grab and go bags etc, along with the weapons, our Husky, Husky-Malamute mix and our cat ready if we need to bug out.

We've made it this far post Hurricane Michael, and the final repairs are about to begin, and we are now in danger of possible losing everything to a fire.

These pictures were taken earlier from one of our upstairs bedrooms, and when it was 100 acre fire.

Fire has expanded to 1500 acres plus and has a name now.....

Adkins Avenue Fire.

Winds are slated to be out of the South to South East tomorrow, in theory that should fan it away from us, as the fire is around North to North West of us currently.

Even with all that, I doubt I'll sleep much if any tonight.

Thats a good problem to have! We moved off grid a few years ago and with this cheap lifestyle i started parking my extra money in guns and ammo but im out of room now haha.
Even the 22 and 12 gauges are expensive to shoot now!

I've got room for 7 more rifles on the racks, since there are currently 37 long guns alone. Then I'll have to make another rack....

I can always find and make more room for more guns.......

The Swiss make some mighty fine rifles and in the right hands they are highly accurate.

Right now, I'm just concentrating on completing the guns I have. Need to find 2 bayonets, 1 cleaning rod, a couple slings, and two firing pins.

Oh and finding an example of a couple rounds for display. My wife wants me to find an example of ammo for each gun. Because she wants to make a display so people can see what round each weapon takes. The hardest to find so far are.....

8X57J (Early round nose 8mm) Which was what the Gew 88 was originally chambered in.

8X50R (Round nose) Original Mannlicher round before they converted them to 8X56R.

11.43X50R aka 43 Egyptian.

Plus I need to find a 22 short and 22 long cartridge. Don't want to buy a box of ammo, that I won't shoot, just to get one round. My Marlin 22 takes 22 S, L and LR, but I only shoot LR in it.
I looked, must have used all my shorts. I have LR and Mags. But I'm more than happy to take that Marlin off your hands, you will have more storage room.
Any ways PM me if you want me to send you a few.

Now that the fires are under control and no longer a threat currently, we are now facing extreme weather (Thunderstorms) with tornado activity. We have had 2 tornados already in the span of a week.

This weather is getting old........Just have to wonder when the locusts will arrive. On a positive note, going to hit a local gunshow tomorrow and see if I can't find a new treasure for the collection.

I caught myself looking at gun porn the other day and told myself no more until we are back in the house and have my gunroom set up.

Then Friday my CINC Household pops off with......

"You've been so good and understanding with all this"......

Uh oh ALARMS go off in my head......

She continues with.....

"I saw a sign about an upcoming gunshow, we ought to go, you never know you might find something you want or like"

ALARM in my head is getting louder......Wondering if this is a trap....!

If I disappear, then it was a trap........!

Well we went to gunshow Sunday, where there was only few milsurps for sale. Some missing parts (Hard to find parts at that), or priced too high (Pandemic/riot/politics prices). So after that being a bust, I took CINC Household out for a birthday lunch, then headed back to where we are crashing at and got lazy.

Later that evening I went to visit my guns for a little bit, to do once over on them........They're doing fine without me and didn't even seem to miss me!

Hi, I'm Mike, and I have a problem, I'm a gunaholic..........

Yeah, you get some of it first then send the rest to us. Then there are the cells that come off the Gulf and hammer us. It's getting old quick.

Let's see what life in the Florida Panhandle has been like in the last 30 days (18 February to 20 March).......

Drought.
Wild fires.
Severe rain.
Severe thunderstorms.
Severe winds.
Tornadoes (EF-01 across the road, and a EF-02 down the road).
Flooding.
Temps in the high 80s.
Temps in the low 20s.
Clear days/nights.
Severe foggy nights.
Days with 100% humidity.

Just waiting on the locusts to show up.......I'm telling you Mother Nature is irate with the Florida Panhandle and is coming after us with a vengeance for some reason! I swear yall are going to wake up one day and find out I went poof along with the rest of the Panhandle residents!

"Need" has nothing to do with it Claire; the man collects military firearms.

I know someone that collects salt and pepper shakers..got hundreds
of pairs of 'em..still there's only 2 that sit on the table. Does she "need" them all?

Your perceptions are based on your life experiences (or lack thereof); the Sarge's are based on his life experience, which I suspect are two entirely different worlds.

No disrespect intended, but who are you to question whether he
needs them, or not? Your "over compensate" comment falls under the
passive-aggressive banner, and not worthy of a response.

That's the beauty of living in America. Providing a person stays within
the boundaries of the laws, they have FREEDOM, meaning they can live
their lives in the manner of their own choosing, and it's nobody else's
damn business.
How do I like this response more than once?
