Took some time (my computer crahed)but found old post card of place I been hitting...

that shows sea plane on beach - this is exact spot i found my recent 4 silver halfs lately
I have found halfs here over the yrs (lot more than anywhere else on this bch)
and quite a few silver quarters here too
more than i have sil. dimes
wonder if plane rides were 50 cents

tried doing more research with no luck

this is an old postcard - dont think common man could afford a dollar = most probaby 50 cents was a lot
was for my family back then
Another beach i have done well over the yrs in the half dept.
an older fellow told me that he was told by an older fellow they had a dinner/dance hall on this small beach
(hall was destroyed in 1938 hurricane sooo)
and they would supposedly thow out a handful of silver dollars and who ever found one
would get a chicken dinner (winner winner chicken dinner) - I believe they threw out half dollars not dollars - never have
i found a silver dollar here nor has any of my friends or others ive met here but ive found
no less than 8 here and know of friends that have gotten 3 or 4 themselves
plus dont believe a chicken dinner cost $1 back then - 50 cents sounds more like it
may have to do research

and were very popular in late 30s and early 40s

most of the halves been around 1939-41

I go on eBay, type the name of my little tourist town, and the old black-and-white postcards just keep coming. I have gotten some great research done by looking at all those post cards sale on eBay

Do you suppose that the other side of the card has any info?
That would help narrow the location down..., but if you were finding half-dollars,
you were probably in the right spot...!
Shoreline would change, but the piers would still be there...!

that plane pier was a floating wharf - i cant show full postcard without giving locale away
theres already a ton of guys that hit here for fresh drops - lot of hunters dont know its full history
and that they swam here in the late 1800s though it was not officially named a beach till 1940
