So I posted these before (the tan chirt one and the larger obsidian one)

Was curious about them because I found them in the same location and not another one in any other place I've been.

And then again in the same location a third one (also obsidian) ??

I try not to see things that aren't there, but it is kind of strange...

pretty sure they are eagle heads ;)

Does the big one have work on the pointy end?Would have made good preforms for a few different tools, but I don't see any flaking on them

Yeah, they don't really look to have any work done to them. It's just strange I found all three in the same location along the river and nowhere else.
I've walked miles and miles of the river and these were all 50 yds within each other.

Maybe a knapper there had an issue making crappy breaks. lol

Can't tell from your pictures, but they could very well be bird beak burins -- very rare lithic technology for north America involved if so. If they're tranchet flaked, they almost certainly are.

If so, though, it's odd they weren't used.

Yeah I've seen pictures of such things. Many to me look like rocks that you throw your imagination into. I dont think these were really purposely formed like this...I mean they definitely look to be scraps from knapping. Just a curiousity I guess... Thx for response !
