Hello all!! We are down from Cincinnati and are digger Treasure Coast!! We hit Vero, and Golden Sand beaches with no luck! We have learned that Sea Grape and Turtle Trail are closed! Does anyone have any input where we might be able to go that may produce? Need some local input please. Thanks in advance!!

The Treasure Coast is always kinda iffy! We have only had good finds after storms or strong wave action. Check NOAA. We now prefer the resort beaches to the south.

In case you are not aware, the Treasure Coast is renourished each year if there has been erosion. 10 to 15 feet of sand is dumped onto the Treasure Coast beaches to build them back up which is why it usually takes a storm with high surf to expose any possible Spanish treasure. Beaches are hit constantly by people detecting, not unusual to see 50 people detecting the Treasure Coast beaches.

Below is just an example, Seagrape Trail..

I was at Wabasso and Bonsteel beaches yesterday(Wednesday-12 January)...a total bust despite the heavy wave action. Seems those heavy waves did strip some sand off the beach a day or two earlier but then brought a lot of sand back in from the re-nourishment projects.
Beaches were very mushy and any cuts were old and worn.
I saw 7 detectorists at Wabasso and was told that earlier in the morning there were at least 20 detectors sweeping that beach! As was posted earlier, the Treasure Coast is heavily hit and hit daily.
Needless to say, we didn't stay long at Wabasso. Bonsteel conditions mirrored those of Wabasso. If it weren't for the exercise and an enjoyable time with my hunting buddy, it proved to be a serious waste of time and gasoline.

And it doesn't take much for it all to go back into the ocean. This happened overnight w/o a major storm.
