Read this story today at the supermarket...150 yards out and 15 feet deep. Goes to show you, still alot of good stuff out there! Just wondering if anyone from the area knows the laws and if the government will let them keep it.

Fox News story of the 'web stated the 1977 movie The Deep was based on looking for the 1715 wrecks. To be honest (as always) most of what I remember from that movie is Jacqueline Bisset in a t-shirt.

What I don't get is why: "The state gets the first pick of the treasure. Up to 20 percent of the rarest finds will be displayed in museums. The rest will be split equally between Brisben's company and the Schmitts."

Correct me if I'm wrong but you pay for a permit to own the land under the water & then the state gets 1st dibs?? Piracy is alive & well.......
