A professional treasure hunter from Connecticut was hired by a Massachusetts family
to investigate a rumor that money was hidden in their home — and he dug up $46,000
under their floorboards.

I watched the long version of the video, it looks like a genuine find to me and I'm one hell of a skeptic when it comes to these things.

... I wonder what was his cut.

probably less than what the feds or state will want out of it.

#1 rule when large amounts of money/treasure are found...Shut Up

Looks legit, but in the age of click baiting that is so rampant, the need to get the views, makes me wonder.
Could be a case of originally found, then lets make a video out of this!
Still why would they want put it out there and loose 60% of it to taxes-or does the estate taxes covers these types of cases?

I wonder if his detector was going rapidly off with all the nails in the flooring? Hmmm, maybe they were wooden nails!

I wonder if it's legit. I mean, no close up of the money and from what he showed didn't appear to have the Silver Certificate when he moved the band over on one of the bricks or even dates showing on the bills. How do/did they know the money was put in a metal box? If I had a house and there was hidden money I would have already pulled up the floor boards in the attic! It's nothing to nail them back down!

The condition of the attic and roof and cleanliness of it all is a danged treasure in itself!

This is much more than YouTube...and I think it’s legit. It’s in more than a dozen newspapers and major news networks. All are within a two day span of April 22-23, 2021. The local Groton Connecticut station WFSB ran the story right away. Also there’s no issue with the IRS or feds unless the serial numbers are matched to stolen bills. I’m happy for them and the guy who found it!

A question springs to mind a real recovery or a shameless promotion of services?

Hola amigo

If he had an agreement with the home owner? Why risk public exposure and attention to the money that was found in the house now attracting the attention of criminals?

as I understand it, there is a revenue stream for producers on you tube
hence the fraudulent videos designed to attract viewers
these are not made to inform, rather to entertain

Yes, and there are dozens of T’Net regulars that have YouTube channels and videos online. Skeptics abound...but this is a news story that also has a YouTube video to accompany it. If this guy can make a few bucks doing what most of us would love to do.....then I say good for him!

I guess I was not clear
have no difficulty with someone making money, we live in a monetized world
in this context, a fake video is a fraud
yes I understand that about everything today is a lie, but why reward such behavior ?
