Binge watching TV in the rain here. Detecting a private permission tomorrow I guess. Don't want my rear to permanently attach to the couch.

Heads up Floridians & NY'er's…

I'm listening to Gov Ron Desantis, saying here in Broward cty,
we have 190 flights from NYC coming here in 1 day.
That we've restricted flights from Wuhan, & other areas,
and now, we're not going to allow ppl from a "hot spot"
within the US, to come here & endanger Fl residents.
Mandatory 14 day quarantine on anyone coming
from NY & NJ.

He's talking to POTUS, metro officials, anyone that has ideas,
on how we can best get a grip on things.
He's taking questions now, so heads up folks.
choices. priorities.

eta: And he concludes with reminding everybody,
that it is a criminal offense to break an issued quarantine,
and he is speaking with the surgeon general as to
issuance of this order of mandatory quarantine.
I'm assuming that's going to be, for positive test patients/fliers?
or will they/he just "blanket" the entire county?
Will be up for review, as to when determinations/reactions are made,
within a few days.

He even said: Play time's over.

Covid-19 verses seasonal flu

The 2017 - 2018 seasonal flu killed 61,000 in america . I don't remember not being able to buy toilet paper , Disney world , sports , restaurants , etc. being shut down . I did not even realize that many people died .Oh wait The Main Stream Media was focused on something else back then every day .
We are approaching 700 deaths in the USA of coronavirus which is sad - All lives matter !

Another thing to watch out for is price gouging.

Just back from getting a loaf of bread.....

The second store I went to had zero loaves on their shelves. A very elderly lady asked what I was looking for, told her and she came back with a loaf. The guy at the register charged me almost $5.00 for a loaf, and told the old gal not to get any more bread for anyone else....

I posted about this in another thread just now....

PRICE GOUGING!

I remember one of the Airplane movies. For protection the guy was wearing a body condom. Funny at the time but today it seems prudent.

Most hope this doesn't get as bad as some predict but if it doesn't few will believe the next time. Kinda of behind the 8 ball.
When HIV became the scourge, the majority thought it would be 14 years before an effective vaccine could be found. That was amazingly close to the time it took. Today for this virus we hear 1-1 1/2 years. Maybe that's overly optimistic if there isn't something already in the box. Something they can bend a bit to work. Then they have to grow it.
The smartest people in the world are working their a$$es off and that's the best that can be done.

There's nothing wrong with telling someone handling things like you said to keep their hands off.
Just like all the bad behavior that's been happening, they have to be schooled.

But because we are seeing a lot of slow learners the rest will need to become teachers. Trust but verify. (Regan) but today it's verify then trust. I'm much more concerned with our food supply then toilet paper. But for the drinkers out there, don't worry. I saw a YouTube on how to make alcohol with toilet paper. I wouldn't do it though. Toilet paper is a forest product. A nice way of saying cellulose. I believe that would make methanol (ie:poison, wood alcohol, bad white lighting) Tell me if my chemistry is skewed.

This has indeed posed a dilemma for me in the produce section,
as I like to fondle my fruits, feeling for any soft spots, bad places,
gently caressing each piece, until I get the right feel,
for which one wants to go home with me.

Oh yeah, I've majorly rethunk my strategies... :BangHead:

day 3 of 14

Hmm...

I do that when I go out to a pub. :)

Just sayin'.

The difference is, we have tried and rested vaccines to lessen the blow of the regular flu. Those barriers don't yet exist for Covid, so those who most at risk when it comes to standard flu, even WITH those barriers in place, are now at even a GREATER risk in this situation.

COVID19 is more infectious. It is more deadly. No one has immunity. If everyone gets sick at once the medical system breaks and even more die. In Italy right now no one over 60 gets to be put on a respirator, so they die. So stock up and stay home.
