I got out Wednesday for an hour to a 2 acre woods I've been pounding for close to 2 years. Low and behold, I pull out an 1864 2 cent piece. Only coin I found. Next day I go to check out a site for a club hunt 80 miles away. What to thing pops out of the ground first thing? Yes, another 1864 2 cent piece. Although they were on different days and 80 miles apart, I pulled 2 consecutive 2 cent pieces out of the ground. Found my first 2 center 35 years ago and didn't find another until last year. Since then I've found five including my last coin out of the ground before it froze up. Considering what they looked like coming out of the ground, these cleaned up well, especially the one on the left.

Congrats. I found my first last month after 30+ years of detecting. Great coins.

Nice finds. Coin is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing

Those are always fun to see in the dirt - congrats!

Congrats Don. I think the 2 Cent coin is one of the coolest American coins. My first one was a pretty sweet 1865, then I dug a holed and counter stamped pretty mutilated 1864. Mine were 2 months apart, not 2 holes apart. Big Congrats buddy!

That's quite unusual Don. Those coins are hard to come by, much less finding 2 on consecutive hunts. And one is in great shape. Nice hunts!

Sweet finds...really close to my wooded sites coming out of the deep snow and freezing... Maybe ill come up with something close to this !!!!??? Thanks for sharing

Very well done Don. I am always amazed to see the superb coins that you find... but two 2 centers back to back (regardless of the situation) is just amazing. Congrats on leaving me shaking my head. I hope that I grow up to be just like you! GL&HH.

Those are some nice old U.S. type coins there - Very Nice .

Wow what are the chances of that. Nice condition too.

Nice job. That one on the left came out very nice.

Great shape. The one on the left is in B-e-a-utiful shape.

Those are some sweet coins, man the detail on the one on the left is great

Great finds, congratulations

Awesome!! Still haven't found one yet. What'd you do to remove the dirt so nicely and keep the sweet green patina?
