French marine button, colonial era! Great finds!!
The French built it first around 1807 then the Spanish took it over in 1820’s. It sits on a bayou and across the bayou in the woods is wear I dug that deep 8lb French cannonball. This French button is exciting to me

Yea but it’s consistent with the post 1763 French marine buttons shanks
