Was hitting some curbstrips last night and came up with this button. It's smashed and in pretty rough shape. The back has a couple things stamped into it, but all I can make out is "Philadelphia". Any ideas?
Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice recovery, what's the other word under the wire/shank?

Alrighty. I cleaned it up with some dish soap and a toothbrush. I believe it says Horstmann/Philadelphia on the back. It seems to be an army general service button, from what years I can't tell you. Estimates online are all over the place. I really need to get a decent button book.
