Here is another artifact from my grandpa my first hunch is it could be quite old. Im a little thrown by the consistent width. Any help with info would be appreciated. It appears to have been in the river for some time.

I’m stuck between a square knife of sorts or a lanceolate blade. With the cream color peaking through I think the black could be river stain… between the time it would take to get like that and the flaking I’m wondering if it couldn’t be transitional paleo

It is the fresh water creeks around here that give me that hard patina. I would say a square knife also. It has some great flaking. It is over shot always across. Maybe that is the clue to the age. The flaking?

I thought adze maybe but it’s very thin, I’ve got lots of points with a closer width to thickness ratio. I thought those flake scars that shot across could be key too, I’ll have to look into that some more

I suspect a square knife, but I posted my sketch on another thread as a lance… originally was going to do a lance and a square knife but I didn’t want to make a 3rd version at the time. I appreciate the opinions and help
