Found this today on a site where I've found relics dating from 1760 up through the 1880's.

It had a little glass still in the threads, and it's very well preserved. It appears to be tinned pewter. Wondering if anyone else has found one and knows the manufacturer and approximate date range?

I haven't yet found what this cap went to but that is the logo for Continental Ink / Continental Mfg Co (Philadelphia).
