Unknown item found

Hi everyone… I found this with my metal detector… I have no idea what it is and was hoping someone on here may be able to identify it for me…. I was detecting a site around where a house stood in the mid 1800s… Thanks

I suppose could be an old hair pin, but it could be an old belt buckle, likely Victorian era. Nice find and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the input…my original thought when I found it was some kind of hair adornment… now I’m leaning more towards a stock buckle… pretty sure it isn’t from suspenders as it is quite delicate… thanks again everyone… I will keep searching for something definitive

about 99% sure, but always leave a little margin for error.

Due to the fragile nature of it as the OP stated... i will stay with 1 part of a 2 part sash buckle.
