US Military Ring?

Found this ring in a very old park today. Can anyone help identify if it is a US Military ring?

It has the crossed sabers,which I believe denotes Cavalry,It sure looks military to me.I don,t know hallmarks,that would give you a better age on it if someone can ID them.

Thanks for the info crash. Yes, the look of those sabers has me thinking its WW1 or earlier. The hallmark appears to be for the Robbins Co. of Attleboro, MA similar to that used on ariman wings they made during the WW1 era. I have e-mailed the company (still in business under different ownership) but have not had a response.

Yes, it is a Robbins mark, but with the third (bird) icon worn away.

Hopefully they will reply, and with more reliable dating than I can give. The company was founded in Attleboro, MA as Chas. [Charles] M. Robbins in 1892 but used the initials ‘CMR’ in that first lozenge icon until they became the Robbins Company in 1912 and then began using the letter ‘R’. They became a subsidiary of Continental Communications Corporation in 1963 but continued to use the ‘R’ initial in the lozenge.

Thanks Red-Coat. Nice image of the makers mark. No reply yet from the company. If the ring has anything to do with the Civil War, I'm thinking it would have been designed for a CW veteran.
