It looks like a piece of an old water valve. The kind they used to put near the curbs of residential areas. They would stick out of the ground about 4-6 inches. I always wondered what they were there for.

Model number is a match (guess 2 indicates inches whereas this part is 1 1/4).

A metal detecting friend of mine found it in his back yard. I'm sure he'll be joining Tnet soon.

Not sure how you did it Country Girl, but that is an amazing ID :thumbsup:
