Very short trip out. King Geo II half penny with interesting off center.

Rain came early this morning. Had only two finds which I lost one, LOL, a dropped musket ball which I managed to lose again. But found this coin in a open wooded area. King George II half penny in decent shape. I have found a number of these before but not so far off center as this one. Kind of neat. Date is tough, maybe 172? as best as I can guess.

Nice find!! That looks like the 1747 that is placed within the Machin's Mills grouping. This is the only George II placed there.

Here's a link to one that sold at Heritage also with some off center to the obverse-

Many thanks, It's sure does appear to be very similar to the one in the link you sent. There is not many targets in this wooded area but when you get a hit. It's usually deep and 1700's. No trash or anything after 1820's. They moved on and no one used the land again for anything. Except hunting shells and bullets'.
