Sure reminds me of something I have seen before but can't quite remember Greg. Looks like a WW2 badge or plate though. I believe WW1 would have the screw posts and WW2 had the regular pins. I will keep searching. jgas

Most military ribbons had a post on either end of the ribbon, this was like a stick pin with a clasp or something... should of took a pic of the back i will when i get home tonight

I keep thinking civilian versus military. Military medals did have clasps attached to them, but they listed places that fighting took place in and these clasps are typically narrower in size.

Now I could be wrong, for I am far from being an expert, so this is just my opinion.

Looks like a VE or VJ day pin to me. Probably for public use/sale.
