WA. Logging camps/ghost towns?

I will be visiting Western Washington state over the weekend & I'm bringing a detector. I've done some research on Ghost Towns that are not too far from the Thurston county area that I'll be. I imagine Bordoeux & Melmont have been hit hard? Would any Wash. diggers have any suggestions for a New Englander from 3000 miles away? Not looking for anyone's secret spot or anything. Even a lead to a pounded ghost town or logging camp I might be able to pull something outta iron....
Send a private message if possible & thanks in advance :)

Haaa ha ;) I'll take that as a compliment Tom. There's tons of Western ghost towns on the internet, just gonna be a question of how pounded they are. Probably hammered just like all our known cellar holes. Hope the rain holds off so I can give it a try ;)

Bill, if you get down to central coast Ca for ghost-townsy relic hunting, let me know. I'll take you out to a few back-pocket spots, to see if you're really worth all that salt they say you are! haha

Bill, it looks like you are headed to Western Washington?

I have done some ghost towning here, but only in Eastern Washington.

Where is it that you are looking to hunt?

Bill,

Disregard last post, looks like you will be on the West side.

It looks like you have identified two good spots, and the weather should be good for MDing.

A lot cooler than the last few weeks have been, should be in the 70's.

Enjoy!

If you get a chance, get into East. Oregon, near the headwaters of the Grande Ronde River. My dad logged there in the early '30s. He and Mom lived in a camp, along with many other loggers. And, in the river is gold.
