Doing this is up to the detectorist and I personally would have both available to me when I need them depending the field I am in, I hope I can offer you some advise in keeping your 8x11 RSD DD and just buy the 5.75" widescan in your case, as they make a perfect duo. The only thing I would consider would be trying a 10" instead of my 8x11 if anything if you want to go smaller, have the 10" and 5.75 then, if someone is willing to trade but I would lean to have two coils still myself..

I agree. I now have In addition to the stock 9x8.... the 8x11 RSD, the 10" elliptical, and the 5.75 concentric.
I never tried the 5.75 widescan but I've always preferred the concentrics where possible
