Wanting to start metal detecting but im on my own need a buddy

Hi guys i have a metal detector and pinpointer carrot. i am serious of wanting to start metal detecting but im a little affraid as i have nobody with me. i really need a buddy. im from the UK west yorkshire. the only reason why im a little afraid is due to i havnt seen anyone metal detect here. and i would like some support with a buddy. or if any1 knows of any places in the UK where i can metal detect.
