Here are some nice finds from my last hunt.A kings 8th Regiment of foot button, a nice shoe buckle and a silver quarter.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you. That's a British Rev War button and a very nice knee buckle!

Steve it’s a close match to the rev war style, but this one is post rev war according to Dons book.
The rev war has an incised “ K’s8”, while my button has a raised pattern.
Also mine is just slightly smaller at 22mm vs 23 mm.

I'm going to agree on the silver quarter-crisp.
Well done on the button and buckle.

Well you made me pull out my Insignia of Independence and sure enough he does list a post war version at 22 mm and a raised pattern. He also mentions a backmark on the 1809-1815 version. Can you see a backmark on yours?

Yes Jeff I can just barely make out the back mark.
I can’t capture it with a photo but it’s definitely

One of the best brass buckles I've seen. Could be kid's shoe buckle as well. Very small but matches the shoe buckle pattern and the pin seems to be at the right place.

Thanks Aureus, it’s my favourite buckle to date.

That's a great find. The King's 8th were very active in the war.
