The first one of these I ever dug as a young boy I tossed because I didn’t know what it was. In Kentucky and Indiana it seemed like the only style ever dug was the the simple, brass loop variety. Down here in Louisiana the styles and shapes are pretty much infinite.

. Amazing collection Cru, thanks for posting. Is the bottom center one in the last pic gold? Most are obviously 18th and 19th C, but how early would you say your oldest is?
I can't tell for sure, but it doesn't have a hallmark & I'm guessing its very thickly plated to give it strength.
Correct, don't have any older than 18th C from what I can tell.

That’s quite a collection! I love how much variety there is in these tiny items. Now that I know that they made these out of gold—I want a gold one!
