Dug these out at old dump site. This particular area had later dated stuff around 1950-60’s stuff.
Not even sure what the claw/teeth things are.

I,ve got to agree,weird! You,re not near areas where voodoo rites may have been undertaken,but maybe something to do with Indian culture?

Any chance some kind of direction indicating device? What is the material the claws/talons are affixed to?

The "claws" are pyrometric cones, used by ceramicists to judge the heat of their kilns. A series of them, each one melting at a different heat, are placed in a base of clay and then fired. Watching them bend and droop gives an idea of the temperature of the fire.

I believe he,s right,probably explains why they were found in a dump.If it were me I,d not have thrown them away.Those are mighty ornate for bases for a temperature regulating device. You could probably sell those in their own right.Downright purty!
