We got back out to the old farm today to search the soybean fields. We finally got some rain so the signals were popping. Bob got our oldest US coin right away! A 1864 Indian! We were so pumped!! About an hour later I popped our first Large Cent!!! What a day! Found some other goodies too! Got a 1920 buff and a 25 wheatie. We found a lamp piece pat. date 1878 and a little clip pat. 85. Got a button, a little jewelry part and a razor handle. Some kind of animal tag? too. We are very curious about the large heavy knife handle? It is very heavy brass 4 1/2 inches long and 1/4 in. Thick. About an in. wide. It had some kind of metal that was in the middle hole. No name on it or anything. Any knife experts out there? We are so over the moon today! This is our oldest stuff yet! I hope you all have a great dig too!!
