So, I’m not super new to the AT Max, but this was the first time back out digging bullets in open fields. Im used to my other machines pounding my ears out on a bullet, and yes these have some killer depth but I’ve gotta be doing something wrong. 3 of the bullets I got sounded like barely repeatable whispers. I mean it, I may be going somewhat deaf but I know what brass, copper and coins sound like when it blows my ears out. I’ve also found a gun that did the same thing. Now my settings for general relic hunting is: Zero Program, 18-20 Disc, one notch below Maximum Sensitivity, and ground balances to around 87.

I mean it was frustrating, as I likely passed several bullets because they were like high pitched repeatable signals that were very quiet. The soil was a former plowed field, had hay, cow crap on it and I’m sure had been fertilized at one point in its life. I’m used to my other machines blowing my ears off on bullets, but I’m also not used to having a machine with multi tone for bullets. What are some suggestions, some VDI numbers, and some of your bullets sounding like? I found some small ones, two were small, one was a .69 smashed, two was smashed, and 2 more were you in the wet area where they still retained the grey color. So throw me some info everyone, I’m all ears here. I’m happy for any suggestions. Thanks
