ya never know maybe the email will find her.
wonder if Olive & Peter Richards, children would have any info
from his obit,..

He is survived by their two sons, Aaron and his wife Sarah of Milton, VT and Justin, and his wife Stephanie,
their two children, William and Steven Richards of Burke, VA as well as several nieces and nephews.

you did what you could as far as family, dont give up yet, IIRC he worked on the uss thresher (ssn-593)
maybe the museum would want the tags

Welp, I guess these tags are destined for the "scrap bucket" as it seems nobody wants them. It has been a fun and interesting project, but in the scrap bucket they go. That you all for your help and suggestions.

pg 16 says he was a civilian engineer worked on the Thresher submarine

An interesting exchange: As a followup to our previous exchanges, I sent the grandson, Justin, the link to Bureau of Ship Journal that cw909 posted just in case he didn't know this about his grandfather. Here is his response:

It is interesting to me that he kept the picture of the ship but didn't keep his grandfather's award. Must have been some bad juju in there somewhere, and may explain why he wasn't interested in having his dog tags.
