Found metal detecting in site of army air field era circa 1920s ww2 1940s. Practice training area camp. Site for testing projectiles base military. When was it made age? What type of metal is it? It's a clamp that goes on a belt buckle. The teeth hold the cloth belt in place. Rest of buckle missing. Gary
I see what you mean first of all hi Gary hope your doing well. When was it made or the age on it?

Military dress belts and fatigue belts used that keeper to affix the buckle to the web belt. Those buckles were used way back into the 40"s.

You can see that piece on the left here, it holds the belt onto the buckle. We still use them in the military today, somethings never change.
