Hi, I found this rock in stone mountain, Ga., in my mother's yard. She has a yard full of rocks every shape & size. Alot of quartz too being about 6 mi. from the mtn itself. I have been all over heryard for yrs & my husband grew up next door & we have never found a rock like this. It is roughly 2x2", its heavy & has a red tint to it along with some silvery spots. Thats about all i can say about it. Would anyone have a guess at it?

If magnetic, could be a nice Hematite nodule.

It looks like ironstone or it could be a rock from a desert which has what is refered to as desert glaze Southern California and Arizona deserts are loaded with them.
