my favorite is Flint Lock rifles [don't have pix's here] but the top is a kit I did & learning Wire Inlay on it (I called it "Sun Ridge") the bottom is a original pistol I fixed up

I voted for Air although I will say that they're all great.

I chose Air because I can shoot and train almost anywhere. It's cheap as dirt and with the way ammo is now that's a huge deal. Also, plinking is just a fantastic time. Even airsoft is great for training CQB and force on force. Air keeps your skills sharp when you can't get to the range and is inherently safer.

I couldnt pick just one but i usually prefer the 10/22 or a shottie just because they are fun and cheap

After seeing what 12 gauge shells and 22LR are selling for now i cant say cheap anymore. Holy cow.

I spent 18 years in law enforcement. Carrying a handgun became second nature. In 2005 I started exclusively handgun hunting big game (deer and hogs) though I still shoot a shotgun or .22 rifle for squirrels. It just felt odd carrying a long gun through the woods. I now have a stable of Encore barrels, an XP100 (ongoing build), Glock 10mm, Super Redhawk .454 Casull and .45 Colt Blackhawk I have to pick from dependign on where and what I'm hunting.

I also spent time in law enforcement before medically retiring and prefer a handgun. For my longer range shooting I use my Springfield XD .45 Tactical due to the long barrel, for all around carry out in the woods or around town (our small town has 661 people, and most know me from being the former chief) I carry a Glock 22 with the laser on the bottom rail, and match grade American Tactical threaded barrel. My evey day carry for concealed carry is a Glock 43 with the extended mag, and grip. Love the gun, and love the other guns I have but for guns to everyday carry those are my two most popular. When I wanna go old school, I have a old, shoulder holstered H&R .32 revolver that’s nearly brand new looking. Got it at an estate sale from a gentleman’s wife who still had the original sales receipt, box, and original box of shells. Out of 50 rounds the old man had only shot 10. I have various hunting rifles, and wish I could choose between them but the one I prefer the most is a Remington 742 Woodsmaster with a nice scope, my own loads, and squirrel gun is a Ruger 10/22 with hammer forged barrel, soft stock, I’ve got a 25 round banana clip, or the stock mag, I use it for long range predator hunting or occasional long range squirrels. If I’m just shooting squirrels out of trees at 50 yards or less I take my Rossi lever action .22 out for that.

I voted black powder (.50). More bang for the buck.
I just traded for a 54 caliber and need to go shoot it. I have gone deer hunting 5 times with my old T C Hawken 50 and got 3. I got all set up to go for a trophy Mule Deer in Chihuahua and they would not allow my 50 muzzleloader because 50 caliber was a military caliber and illegal to cross the border because of a deal with obama. I might try again this December

I would have like an all choice, but the one I happen to grab out of the safe is my favorite for the day 8-)

I love my airguns, all are precision, and they are legal to shoot on my 3.73 acres. Firearms requires 10 acre plats. I could live off the land with my airguns if needed. The ammo, even top grade precision, is far more available and affordable. My main brand of airgun is the Air Arms TX200 spring guns.

Whatever my scatterbrain wants on any particular day. I went through a phase of building AR15 rifles. Graduated to rebuilding FN FAL rifles from parts kits. restored a few WWII rifles and now have completely flip flopped to 1800s stuff. Civil War but also early cartridge rifles. Springfield Trapdoor, Snider Enfield, etc. I even restored a 240 year old Brown Bess musket. I fired it for probably the first time in over 200 years on the 4th of July a couple years ago.
