Hello,
I have gotten into the metal-detecting hobby, using a White's XLT, within the last month and am looking around to see what I would like for a pinpointer. I know someone willing to sell me what I believe is an XL-1 Sunray Pinpointer. I tried to look up reviews but only found 2 youtube videos from quite some time ago. The advantage, from what I understand, is that the pinpointer runs through the XLT's circutry, clips onto the detector, and is made specifically for the machine. I have used a Garret AT Pro pinpointer (The Carrot) and am happy with how it functions. Is a XL-1 Sunray Pinpointer going to perform as well or better than a Carrot or is it technology that has not aged too well? My assumption, until better educated by the experienced, is that the Sunray may be just as expensive but not function on par with newer pinpointers. However, I assumed the same of the XLT at first but have grown to see it as a versatile and powerful machine.
