WNC Pottery shards

Hi, this is my first time posting on this site.
I found these on a bank of a river in western North Carolina.
I think they are Connestee?
Just curious if anyone else has any information they can share with me to help identify them.

...I think that is cord-marked-pottery. Keep going to that area and find more.
As far as naming a people’s to it, I find that same style of fired pottery 1000-1500? miles from you. It was a way the first people made there wares, at that time...

Yeah very similar to my site in Kansas I’ve got attributed to Cuestas phase hopewell and Pomona… also looks a ton like Keith phase… not sure what the contemporary would be In your area but I’ve got a date 500 ad to 1500 ad

Hi bobbymoon, your pottery looks like what I find in my creek. I live in western NC too and where the Catawba and S'atsoyaha (Yuchi) once lived. I think you will find more there of different patterns so keep looking, they are beautiful!

Thanks everyone for the input, it was busy this week so didn’t make it back to respond till now. Going back to the spot hopefully tomorrow so I will post if I find anything.
