this is the other sign same but different lighting , now this is over 100 yrs olod from 1800s will that make a difference if not then what is it thanks

looks like a natural mark on a tree to me. Could have been a number of things that caused it.

Look around the site and see if there is anything else around. Never hurts to check.

Looks to me like the tree had a wound of some type and it healed irregularly (like when we get scars) and that's all there is to that. Sorry, but I think it's natural, too.

It sure looks like an owl to me. Somewhere on this forum I seem to remember reaading that an owl means treasure...just a thought.....steve
