Wouldn't it be nice if...
...there was a headphone adapter for AT Pro & Gold that did not have an annoying cable attached to it? One that say, had the Garrett connector on one end and went straight to a 1/4" female plug on the other. Perhaps it could be made from all corrosion resistant materials. It would be protected by the surrounding plastic "tunnel" that is present on these detectors now, would be way easier to insert into the Garrett socket. Having owned other detectors with standard 1/4" headphones connections on them, I never had to figure out where the extra, small gauge cable was going to be attached. I certainly would never have put it up under the ground stand where it could be contacted by all manner of dirt and moisture and sharp stuff lying around. I always found it easier for the headphone cable to come from the coil side of the control box so that when I lay my detector down (I am right handed mind you) to investigate a target, the cord just hung there out of my way. I put my headphones on so that the cord was on my right side. Just sayin...
