It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here but I got a pleasant surprise after cleaning some crud off a wheat penny this morning. Apparently I might have found a toasted 1914 D penny yesterday! Not much to look at but will definitely fill that hole in my penny album if that’s what it is. The 44’s I found in the same area aren’t green and in much better shape. I`m with Don, It deserves a special place!
Rather than sticking it back in a vacant hole in your album, you may wish to consider getting the coin certified then placed is a frame to post in your man cave.

Don......

I have a rare key-date silver coin I found in saltwater. Pcgs and ngc would have nothing to do with it. They could not certify that it was genuine... and this one would fall into that category too, unfortunately.

Super duper cool coin, way to go! I like the quarter too :)

Man oh man it’s good to see a fellow Louisiana boy hit a key day Not to mention the barber quarter which I’ve been looking for for the past five years I have the 1900 O barber half and the barber Dime but I can’t hit the quarter last mom I was with a friend of mine Metal Detecting and he found one and boy I was jealous. I’ll get one one day but it can’t come soon enough. Congratulations

Thank you all! I’ve graded a couple of finds ( dimes returned XF40 and MS
60) and I know this would come back environmental damage. Not worth the cost. Just happy to share this with you all. Going in my album.

Wow, that would be a nice surprise...there's only a million plus of the 1914 d around...the oldest I've got so far are a few 1919....congratulations! I wonder why it can't be certified...because of the condition?
