A few days ago I was hunting some vacant lots where the city had torn down some old houses. These lots have been pounded since the homes have been gone for over 6 years. My buddy came up with an Indian Head and I ended up finding a sterling silver ID bracelet. The bracelet had a mans name and his Army service number on the top. On the bottom it had a woman's name engraved. With the help of another Tnet member I was able to research the names and discover that they had been the owners of the lot. Unfortunately, both had passed away but more digging led to a surviving son now in his 70's. When I met with his son to return the bracelet I learned that he was also a military man. While he was away in the military his father grew ill and passed away before he could get home to say goodbye.
He has done extensive genealogy on his family but said he did not have a single family keepsake of his fathers....until now! He was beyond excited and grateful to receive this bracelet. He provided photos of the people whose names are engraved on it. His mother and father, Albert and Florida Johnson. This was an awesome experience!
