✅ SOLVED WW1 object

Dug a WW1 brass or copper item on U.S. Artillery Range. 3? long. About 1? wide. Has wood inside one end and a pin in the other. Looks like it was on a 1? wooden rod. Pin side has a metal floor 1/2? down.

It’s still has part of the pole in one end. I’m thinking canon ramrod or flag pole top. Found a US button, 30 cal rds, harmonica, trench shovel, NY lapel pin, over 100 Welch’s Juniors bottles. Date range of all this stuff is 1883-1918

You got me thinking. I also was leaning towards a tool, but the metal being soft and the pin being only 1/8in thick it wouldn’t stand up to much force…Unless it was a vertical load. Looked up tent poles. The M1910 US army tent looks like a match. I’ve also found tent stakes, tent tensioners, and tent eyelets in the area. Thanks
