WWI Iron Cross?

So I found this while raking up the yard at one of my boss's abandoned rental properties. I don't know if it's real or not. I believe it's a WWI Iron Cross. As you can see it's pretty beat up.

nice find. I think it's a repo because it does not appear to have a 'W' in middle of cross nor a Crown
symbol at top of cross.
