Well I think I'm driving the wife crazy. Bought a Garrett sea hunter two weeks ago and now just ordered the minelab X-70 for land hunting. This hobby is addicting.I've only been doing it a month. Luckily the wife likes it too.She seems to be happy with her bounty hunter quick draw. So does anybody have any set programs that seem to work well. For beach or land hunting?Or any good links It should be her buy this weekend, so I'm trying to get all the knowledge I can by then, I only got the stock coil right now. Because I want to read some more reviews before I get another coil. Oh here are a few finds from this weekend not a whole lot but hey a lot of fun. Oh the wife found the bracelet.

Welcome,
I tend to hunt in All metal as much as I can. If the ground is too trashy, I have pattern #3 set to reject all negative numbers and +48. I will switch between the two. Try to aviod running the threshold too high. I dig all repeatable signals and some iffy signals. I have found that in all metal I get a better idea of what's in the ground. If there is a good object in the ground near a nail, I can pick up on it better than if I am using discrimination. Disc. will tend to null the signal most of the time and make the good target not sound so good. It took some practice to figure out what it is telling me in all metal but the better you get, the more you will like AM.

Good luck, you'll love it

One other great site for learning about the X-70 is www.findmall.com. Go to the X-Terra section and look at the FAQFAQ post. It has the most and best info on the X-70 that you will find anywhere.

Good hunting, John K
